SAM St.Moritz Art Masters 2012 E.A.T. The Engadin Art Talks, a symposium on art and architecture, is taking place for the third time on 25 and 26 August 2012. We are especially pleased to be guests of the Lyceum Alpinum! This year we have invited artists, designers and architects to talk about their “Visions for the Alps”. Participants will discuss and philosophize on visions and projects that have been conceived for the mountains or inspired by them. We look forward with great pleasure to meeting with great, familiar names and younger contributors, to animated conversations and exciting debate -- and above all to the personal exchange between audience and speakers. We want to encourage and make this possible by inviting the public to join us for drinks and snacks on Saturday evening. The talks will be held in German or English. Admission is free! The Engadin Art Talks were initiated in 2010 by the publisher and collector Cristina Bechtler from Zürich. It is her aim to create a temporary site for a dialogue on art in keeping with the history of Engadin as a place congenial to concentrated thinking and lively conversation. Cristina Bechtler has been able to secure the renowned curators Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director of Exhibitions and Programme at the Serpentine Gallery in London, and Beatrix Ruf, Director of the Kunsthalle Zürich, as artistic directors. After only two years, the Engadin Art Talks can already look back on a roster of star-studded participants: artists and architects who enthusiastically accepted the invitation to spend a weekend in Engadin to talk about various aspects of their work, among them Doug Aitken, Nairy Baghramian, Sarah Morris, Lawrence Weiner, Cerith Wyn Evans and Peter Zumthor.
